Multisite Comparison of Case Management, Crisis, and Self-Help
Principal: Paula Goering
Location: Toronto
All programs participating in the individual studies will provide data for the multisite study. These programs encompass three program types (i.e., case management, crisis, consumer and family self-help) implemented across a number of sites throughout the province. Considerable effort has been invested in ensuring that there will be measures in common to all studies that will permit consolidated and comparative analyses.
Purposes
The study will focus on comparing program types on a number of dimensions as demonstrated in the
following project goals:
- assess whether program types differ in who they serve
- assess whether program types differ in effectiveness
- assess and compare program costs across program types
- assess and compare cost-effectiveness across program types
In addition, the range of case management approaches represented in this study allows for more in-depth
comparison of different case management models. The multisite study intends to:
- define and compare program structure across case management interventions
- assess how program structure affect consumer outcomes
- assess how program structure affects program costs
Questions related to further development of self help are under development.
