An Evaluation of Two Community Mobile Crisis Units for the Chronically Mentally Ill

Principals: Lorraine Ferris and Kenneth Shulman
Location: Toronto

This project was designed to evaluate two mobile crisis programs that are organized to provide 24-hour, community-based brief intervention and mobile support to individuals with a mental disorder who are in crisis.

A Phase 1 feasibility study was conducted to review the status of the programs and readiness for evaluation. Data collection was confined to the time of admission and 48 hours afterward to identify clients served, the nature of the crisis, and the intervention services provided. This project did not proceed to a full evaluation.
