Instruments and ManualsThe Community Mental Health Evaluation Initiative (CMHEI) is a longitudinal, multisite study of community mental health programs in Ontario. Participating programs include assertive community treatment, intensive case management, brokerage case management, consumer self-help and family self-help. Data collection includes a comprehensive consumer assessment administered at three points in time: baseline (FU0), nine months (FU1), and 18 months (FU2). The assessed consumers may be new program users, users already enrolled in programs, or ill relatives of users of family self-help. Six projects or sites are involved in this multisite study, and available data sources vary. As a result, a core set of data are collected about the consumers from every project, and then additional modules (e.g., self-report data) are administered where possible. Projects are classified into three groupings:
